Privacy of information: I think the realtors finally get it now

It was over a decade ago that the Gramm–Leach–Bliley Act put into law some very clear restrictions about the sharing of a mortgage borrower's private information. Basically, as a mortgage broker I can't share anything without authorization from the borrower. This was actually a welcome piece of legislation because it put into law what I was unfavorably practicing already.
However, for the next 10 years I would still get inquieries from the realtors and other interested parties freely making inquiries about the status and prior-to-closing conditions......here we are in 2015 and my sense is that the listing and selling (buyer brokers) agents are now mostly respecting privacy act put in place 15 years ago.
